Everyone, I am utterly pleased to share our recent EnT convo with Dr. Rob Power, Assistant Professor of Education at Cape Breton University! Besides being an accomplished and prolific researcher, teacher, and practitioner in many diverse areas of the educational endeavor writ large… Rob and I also go back many years professionally… and this is our first time catching up in at least ten years!
If you listen closely over the jet engines, you should be able to hear this audio! #ednontech
Matt’s Notes
As discussed in the episode, Rob and I go back to 2008… when I arrived to work as Communications Instructor with the Language Studies and Academics (LSA) Department at what was then the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar… to be clear, we’ve now known each other during the 00’s… 10’s… and now the 20’s! Furthermore, Rob and I both hold the Education Doctorate, Ed.D degree… his from Athabasca University, and mine from UCalgary… both specializing in similar fields within education!
Rob’s accomplishments and projects and initiatives are wide-ranging, and too numerous to mention here!
A good place to check out any and/or all of what he’s up to lately is his consultancy website Power Learning Solutions… another good place to look would be his page on the Cape Breton University website! He also keeps an active presence on LinkedIn! Below is a screenshot from my favorite among Rob’s many recent publications! Do yourself a favor and check any and/or all of them out!
I am seriously grateful for the opportunity to catch up with Dr. Power! I strongly recommend reaching out to colleagues in person… beyond through weak social media ties… it can add perspective to your practice, and joy to your week!
We are glad Rob came by, and wish both him and you all success and enjoyment this summer!
Rob, thanks a bunch for joining us! And everyone else as well, of course!
