Which, if you have any historical curiosity&#8230; could ring as cool for you as it does for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>B.C.\u2019s Post-Secondary Digital Learning Strategy<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m no longer part of the BC Higher Ed community! But&#8230; I was for a wildly significant period of my career&#8230; I&#8217;m still a tutor with the TRU Writing Centre&#8230; I&#8217;m an invited virtual speaker to a pair my good colleague Dr. Pam Gurney&#8217;s undergrad education classes&#8230; and, most importantly, my kids and their mom still live in Kamloops&#8230; and it is entirely possible either or both of the boys could decide to study in their hometown institution within the next 4-7 years&#8230; which, of course, will go by in the blink of an eye!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So&#8230; despite my frequent lamentations about various aspects of BC higher ed&#8230; and perhaps fueled by them somewhat&#8230; my interest <a href=\"https:\/\/bccampus.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/B.C.s-Post-Secondary-Digital-Learning-Strategy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in this kind of a document<\/a>! There are some excellent names here and a few who probably are less so! But it&#8217;s a wide sweep of the sector! And, as it&#8217;s shared from BCcampus, it is more than worth your time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>49:00<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summer of 2008, my favorite musical artist of all time released an album online around his 49th birthday to download for forty-nine cents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was the summer I completed my B.Ed training and was on my way to Qatar with the woman who was going to be my kids&#8217; mom. It was a heady time all around&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ANYWAY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had to take it down almost immediately because of copyright infringement lawsuit threats from *unnamed highly famous musical artists (plural)* but flashforward some fifteen years later and it sits unmolested and available for free to listen to on what appears to be a legit <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/paul-westerberg\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/paul-westerberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Westerberg Soundcloud account<\/a>&#8230; which, to my mind, is maybe infinitesimally better than directing you to a Spotify page!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/114341780&#038;color=%23ff5500&#038;auto_play=false&#038;hide_related=false&#038;show_comments=true&#038;show_user=true&#038;show_reposts=false&#038;show_teaser=true&#038;visual=true\"><\/iframe><div style=\"font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate,Lucida Grande,Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Sans,Garuda,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/paul-westerberg\" title=\"Paul Westerberg\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Westerberg<\/a> \u00b7 <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/paul-westerberg\/49-00\" title=\"49:00\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;\" rel=\"noopener\">49:00<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>r\/SaintJohnNB<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m not an active&#8230; uh.. <em>Redditor<\/em>&#8230; but I do get links and summaries, and most of them are junk&#8230; but every so often <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SaintJohnNB\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SaintJohnNB\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one of the threads jumps out<\/a>&#8230; due to the pitch of rhetoric\/vitriol&#8230; OR the local knowledge of this new-to-me city found in the posts and the comments&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You see things to observe, things to look out for later&#8230; my Saint John is pretty much bound to Uptown where I live, and East SJ where I work and where my mom, uncle, and girlfriend all live (in separate residences)(as in they don&#8217;t live together)(not that there&#8217;d be anything wrong if they did)! And so&#8230; coverage of North End&#8230; and West SJ&#8230; and surrounding hamlets, villages, and smaller cities! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So much New Brunswick&#8230; and so little time&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Samiam: Monterey Canyon (Lyric video)<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m just really happy with this video I made for one of the songs on one one of my favorite bands&#8217; new album&#8230; it was an *ahem* legit ed tech learning experience vis-\u00e0-vis Camtasia and captioning and licensing certain kinds of publicly-sourced video content&#8230; namely octopi!
