While we were talking about his latest book <em>How Education Works<\/em>, we ended up going many other places as well&#8230; including into the ten years he spent as a professional musician! As mentioned during the episode, I cite Jon&#8217;s works <a href=\"https:\/\/prism.ucalgary.ca\/server\/api\/core\/bitstreams\/efb22d91-feb5-4428-b4e1-bacc0411a5c4\/content\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">no fewer than 15 times<\/a> in my 200-page-ish doctoral thesis! To say that his work has been influential on my thinking would be a supreme understatement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ll go further&#8230; Anderson &amp; Dron&#8217;s (2011) paper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irrodl.org\/index.php\/irrodl\/article\/view\/890\/1826\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Three Generations of Distance Education Pedagogy&#8221;<\/a> should be required reading for anyone involved in teaching post-secondary in any way that involves the internet in any way shape or form!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"861\" height=\"696\" src=\"https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-29-012538.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1938\" srcset=\"https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-29-012538.jpg 861w, https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-29-012538-300x243.jpg 300w, https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-29-012538-768x621.jpg 768w, https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2024-06-29-012538-850x687.jpg 850w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, apart from the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aupress.ca\/books\/120320-how-education-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">his latest book<\/a> is supremely practical, useful, and&#8230; significantly&#8230; highly readable&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/jondron.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jon&#8217;s website<\/a> is eclectic, thoughtful, and&#8230; SOMEHOW!&#8230;
