A couple of days ago, I got to have a convo with Chuck Bowie, a talented, prolific author of suspense novels here in Atlantic Canada&#8230; and increasingly on the national scene, as well! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was absolutely rad speaking with Chuck, not just on account of his significant literary achievements&#8230; as you&#8217;ll see if you click below!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Ed non-Tech (EnT) Conversation 6: An interview with Chuck Bowie\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GWVc2SUsA4k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/convo6audio.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we were paid by the word for this audio, we&#8217;d be slightly wealthier than we already are! #ednontech<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/RI9w.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1771\" style=\"width:839px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Matt&#8217;s Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m going to necessarily keep these comments brief&#8230; because in this case, the conversation was, to my mind, so rich as to need little academic, professional,  or artistic context beyond the immediate media!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Er&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But seriously, Chuck has written five excellent novels so far in his Donovan series&#8230; as well as three mysteries under his Alexa Bowie pseudonym&#8230; as well as contributing to collections of short stories&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is, not to be precious about it&#8230; an author&#8230; and a gentleman! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would be remiss if I let these notes go by without mentioning that, in addition of writing novels and stories, Chuck has worked tirelessly as late with the <a href=\"https:\/\/wfnb.ca\/Sys\/PublicProfile\/57180385\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Writers Federation of New Brunswick<\/a>&#8230; as well as other groups through his speaking, writing, and teaching activities&#8230; all of which help to raise the profile of the literary arts in Atlantic Canada&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Chuck is also the dad to two of the best people I&#8217;ve ever met&#8230; he is a patriarch of some renown whose kids, grandkids, and wider circle of friends, family, and supporters&#8230; are making serious contributions to government, sports, music, and literature&#8230; and I literally can&#8217;t imagine the trajectory my life would have taken were it not for Chuck, Lois, and Jon!
