That&#8217;s what Steve did to popular music. Or&#8230; music, generally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m putting this out here now, weeks after this episode was recorded and after most of these notes were placed in WordPress&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lots going on &#8220;behind the scenes&#8221;, you might say&#8230; and for sure one thing I&#8217;ve learned over the years&#8230; is to pace yourself&#8230; and that means knowing when to scale back artistic and\/or creative outlets&#8230; it&#8217;s a matter of leaving water at the bottom of the well so it can refill overnight&#8230; to paraphrase Ernest Hemingway&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ANYWAY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thing Steve was was productive. So I&#8217;m determined to get three episodes of the EnT out the door today. There&#8217;s probably more Steve commentary on the way in those notes as well. In this case, I&#8217;ve stepped away from it&#8230; at least by a half-pace or two!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bandcamp is actually an awesome app, is what I&#8217;m trying to get at! That it relies, largely, on community members buying and selling proprietary music files feels in a weird way both anachronistic and&#8230; community like&#8230; the fact that you can buy physical music and\/or merch feels a lot closer to being able to support the artist in the streaming era&#8230; wherein algorithmic production and consumption of music has essentially hollowed out the ability of most musical artists to make recording music by itself any kind of viable economic enterprise&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I could go on! And on the music podcast we do! I will be spending more time with the Bandcamp app, because post-purchase it functions as an excellent streaming platform for the things you&#8217;ve purchased&#8230; the downloadable music files are, at least for me, almost never touched&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is all related to downsizing&#8230; and to Jesse&#8230; a Frankie Stubbs band while Leatherface was on several years&#8217; hiatus in the mid-90&#8217;s&#8230; it&#8217;s absolutely brilliant emotional highly intelligent thoughtful punk that has long been out of print until this spring&#8230; and while I wait for the gorgeous colored two-LP limited run Discography vinyl to arrive from the Sunderland, UK via the Bandcamp app&#8230; I&#8217;ve been streaming it incessantly&#8230; for more than a week&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What the YouTube and\/or Apple Music apps&#8217; algorithms make of this knowledge is anyone&#8217;s guess!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/analogue-trope.ca\/podcast\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/78163fa650c98d72e0d69c0e0a654a2d.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1610\" style=\"width:839px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/pXzJDQ5ov84kfFrA9361p34kGVX1J1WDtrXdSazoMcWyD3J_771DOmdSNrRoyK8IEYeFJ_Rn3fdwft0Dd-d29UZSSmzJjR4VZsA_42rc6a0RNcnQX4_M83NhjuFBL32t8WtPXHI6dLr9vnU_Xu0UbvM\" width=\"624\" height=\"476\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Doug&#8217;s Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Clear communication in education<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Results took the form of five primary communication themes:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>expectations of and problems with technology;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>problems associated with distance; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>perceptions of nontraditional students; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>encouraging the use of technology; and&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>encouraging student interaction.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If interaction is to take place, the teacher must encourage it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McHenry, L., &amp; Bozik, M.
